2025 DIVOT DAY PROJECT
OFWW sponsors a Divot Day project on a Wednesday in the Spring for each of the KWCC Courses. The dates for 2024 are listed below:
Wednesday, February 2025 Lake Course
Wednesday, April 2025 Island Course
Wednesday, May 2025 Forest Course
Wednesday, August 2025 Lake Course
Wednesday, October 2025 Island Course
Wednesday, November 2025 Forest Course
We assemble at the main clubhouse at 7:00 am for coffee, a ”kick-off” breakfast, pick up our carts and proceed to the assigned Course at 7:30. After our work is complete (usually a little over one hour) we will return the carts to the main clubhouse.
We will have four divot teams. A team will start from either the tee box on holes 1 or 10 or from the green on holes 9 or 18… to eventually meet together on holes 5 or 14. All participants will earn one volunteer point.
Please feel free to invite friends or family members who are not OFWW members to join us. Thanks for your consideration and thanks to those of you who volunteer to help in this effort.
Divot Day Process
1. The KCC Golf Staff will work with the OFWW President in November and December to establish the divot days schedule for the up-coming year and inform KWGA accordingly.
2. The Divot Day Schedule is placed on OFWW GG Portal.
3. A sign-up registration page will be placed on the League portals for members to sign-up. Each League (OFWW, KWGA 9, KWGA 18) will have their own GG sign up form.
4. Communications/ IT Coordinator will send out reminder sign up emails to members at least one week before the scheduled work day.
5. The Pro Shop Coordinator compiles final list of participants signed up in order to finalize headcount for breakfast and drinks for divot day, determine number of carts to stage and prepare attendance sign-in sheet including hole assignments.
- It is recommended to sort the final participant list alphabetically and divide into 4 equal parts to determine the groups that start on holes 1, 9, 10 and 18.
6. The day before Divot Day, the Pro Shop will confirm
- Food & Beverage has been informed of final headcount and breakfast set up/servers are assigned to their tasks and ready at 7 am on the scheduled Divot Day.
- Sufficient carts be staged in front of the Island Putting Green.
- Maintenance has 4 carts ready loaded with sand to accompany each group filling divots and ensure that spare sand is ready for loading
7. Pro Shop Coordinator checks in participants and assigns starting hole locations and notes on attendance sheet.
- Breakfast starts at 7am
- Groups go out to fill Divots at 7:30 AM
8. The Pro Shop Coordinator will send a final list of actual participants to the OFWW & KWGA Presidents to update the volunteer points spreadsheets
9. Communications/ IT Coordinator updates Volunteer Points list on OFWW Website.
