December OFWW Bash

 

Format: ABCD Holiday Shamble

 

Date: Tuesday, December 6th, 2022

Location: Lake Course

Start Time: 9:30 am Shotgun

Social: Holiday Food and Drinks Main Ballroom

Entry Fee: $10.00 Charged to account

 

• Team, 2 net best balls, shamble format. Select best drive and then each player plays his own ball from that position into the hole. Team score is total of 2 net best balls
• 80% handicap
• No Drive Quota
• One mulligan per player

• One throw per player!  (Throw does not count as a stroke!)
• Crazy Holiday holes to play! See page 2 for hole descriptions

• Record all gross scores in Golf Genius and software will calculate the team total consisting of 2 net best balls
• Score card playoff will be determined using USGA matching method of last 9, last 6, last 3, last hole. Holes 10 through 18 will be consider as last.
• All OFWW players will play from the White Tees except for those meeting the following condition:

A) GHIN handicap index and age totaling 90 points greater; or

B) Age 70 years and up may play from the Forward (Silver) Tees.

 (Please indicate on the sign-up sheet that you are eligible and want to play from the Forward (Silver) Tees.) Those playing from the Forward (Silver) Tees will have their handicap adjusted following USGA rules and will be indicated on the team scorecard.

• Remember to keep up with the group in front of you and to complete your round in under 4½ hours! Pick-up once a score of gross double bogey plus any handicap strokes you’re entitled to on the hole is reached! You are also encouraged to use the Most Likely Score provision that allows you to take your maximum score without finishing the hole.

Three-some rule in effect: For any three-some teams, players will alternate hitting only an extra drive and a blind draw will be made for missing handicap player score.

Instructions:

 

• Full Scramble Format
• Team scramble handicap will be calculated as 20% of A player, 15% of B player and 10% of C player
• No drive quota
• No Mulligans
• Team net skin competition
• All players will play from the Silver Tees

• Record your team’s total gross score in Golf Genius
• Score card playoff will be determined using USGA matching method of last 9, last 6, last 3, last hole. Holes 10 through 18 will be consider as last

• Remember to keep up with the group in front of you and complete your round in under 4½ hours!

Foursome rule in effect:

 

• Foursomes will play a step scramble format where the player who hit the selected shot will not hit the next shot.  Reset at the start of the next hole, i.e., the player who makes a putt is eligible to tee-off on the next hole.

 

February OFWW Bash

Format: Lone Pink Lady

Date: Tuesday, February 14th, 2023

• The Lone Pink Lady tournament format (Man with pink ball) is a fun game that is played with foursomes. Every hole, one player in that foursome is assigned to be the Man with a pink ball. The rotation will be the A player 1st hole, B player 2nd hole, C player 3rd hole and D player 4th hole. The cycle then repeats throughout the rest of the round. Team score will the Man with the pink ball score as well as the best ball of the other 3 players. So, two balls will be counted on each hole.
• If the pink ball is lost, the designated Man with the pink ball may use a regular ball and the team needs to abide by the same format rotation.
• Teams that finish the tournament with the original pink ball will also be playing for a bonus.
• No mulligans. 100% handicap.
• Each player plays his own ball from tee through the green.
• Record all gross scores in Golf Genius.
• Score card playoff will be determined using USGA matching method of last 9, last 6, last 3, last hole. Holes 10 through 18 will be consider as last.
